Nelson's Story

My 1st day in IB I spent with my lil brother and during school hours we set out searching for a candy store to buy gum,he was8,I was9,we lost our way and couldn't find our way back home! We heard a loud strange sound in the air and followed it. When we finally walked 2 to 3 miles..we found the source of the loud roaring sound! It was the ocean and we saw playful seals body surfing and greeting the people on the beach! That was something!! As children it was a fantasy like reality. Some years later we didn't see that ever again...we loved the ocean..from the sharks feeding on the pilings to the parties on the beach..the sound however never changed but everything else had!! Mar Vista was as the same thing we saw people come and go..buildings come up and empty land disappear..and then we regretfully left to live in NYC...but the beach was still there.. when I went back years later I was fortunate to visit the beach and I saw all the things good and bad...but the ocean had stayed the same...just like a memory that doesn't change or the friendship we continue in the future's past Mar Vista is an ocean of those we knew and remember..the sound we hear are the voices from the past that are still there but forever..and so are my memories ...and that's a FACT!! Nelson I always wanted to be a guitarist ...Expand for more
when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a complexed idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I involved myself in anything of a background in music whether instruments or electronics in musical research In school the wildest thing I ever did was...I got elected as the 11th grade's class President in the NYC High School of Printing...under the the program of the VICA organization...I was always searching for leadership roles and either got elected or arranged for the opportunity.....My heroes in life were Jimi Hendrix,Martin Luther King,Babe Ruth, and our Lord Jesus Christ. From child to 40 years of age these were my role models.Of course I'm much older now.I have been fortunate to live in diverse places in my life and visited by opportunity all over the Far East and USA...from Hawaii to Puerto Rico..from New York to California,Mexico to Canada...all before I was 21 yrs old. At 54 I was stricken with lung cancer and lived through the chemo, and radical radiation to kill a 7 inch tumor that almost destroyed my whole right lung and was restored to a healthier life to my present survival. And as of now a great joy to have lived to meet my 1st grand child Ariana Jayne...the exact image of her mother my daughter Naomi Linda, and relived the witness of life's greatest treasure...children.
